Math Bootcamp

Ages 8-14

Does tutoring and extra math help without the pricetag for one-on-one sound like a good idea?  Does having fun and playing games while building skills and confidence sound like a win-win? Move past finger counting, learn the “tricks” to solve problems in your head, learn the language of math, and master facts to make new skills easier. This class will focus on building and reinforcing fundamental math skills predominantly through games.  We will work on strengthening number sense, building fact fluency, math vocabulary, logic skills, mental math, and how to approach word problems.  Time will also be set aside for practicing and improving previously learned skills to prevent that dreaded summer slide while allowing students to get targeted help on problem areas.
